Hmm. I still don't know why kpilot should be taking down your system - it 
doesn't do anything weird with devices.

Well, it needs to be fixed in an underlying library, libkcal. I don't know if 
that version has been released yet. The KPilot version on the website doesn't 
have any special code to work around the bug - perhaps there should be.
