I just tested this in my local wiki: The generated backlinks do not work 
anymore then. What about the following scheme: full_article_(lang) ?
example: Development/Tutorials/Shell_Scripting_with_KDE_Dialogs_(de)

(this is how wikipedia is doing it for disambiguation, e.g.:
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_(text_editor) )

The backlinks will work this way (although only to the english super-page). 
But better than nothing.

Yep, doing it via a template is the only way I can see... it's quite some 
manual work, though ;) A howto would be good in the Help: namespace (maybe 
Help:Translations). We need a consistent style for this after all :)
