I agree very much with you. I am an electrical engineer and I am in a "male
world" since nearly 10 years now. In the beginning (after being at a girls
school before) I thought it is simply something to learn. That I have to
learn to be an "engineer" and that I am then like all the others.

But that is not true. I had to realize, that there are a lot of differences
in how we do things. And that it doesn't help to pretent being male.

Yes. Now I only join #kde if I am searching someone. I don't like to ask a
question to a bunch of people I don't know and who then even don't answer
that they don't know. They simply don't answer. I feel much more comportable
in #kde-women. It's more like being "at home" :-))

I don't if I am right, but after thinking a lot about the difference between
men and women I have the idea, that women tend to try to do things perfect.
And while doing things, they need people to tell them, that it is good, what
they are doing. And as long as they don't know every detail - they say, they
are a beginner. At least that is what I see, when observing myself. ;-) Then
I tend to be irritated by people who say, that I am a specialist (Carlyn:
;-) ).

So that is maybe the reason why women like to have a social part and
community around the things they are doing. It's hard to tell - since all
people are very different, it is not easy to understand all this.

Anyway - I think it looks like becoming a very interesting project, very
different from the others, and I am looking forward to the things to come.
