i also have a twinview card (2 monitors at 1024x768), X4.03 and latest nvidia 
drivers). Here it is my memory usage with just konsole open:
1794 root      15   0  203M 203M  2564 S     0  0.9 81.5   0:17 X 

And here it is after i opened konqueror, netscape, kmail, kwintv and control 
center:
 1794 root      17   0  209M 209M  2956 S     0  0.5 83.9   0:20 X
