Subject:    Compiling KDE 2.1.1 apps under RH7.1

I just installed RH 7.1 and I cannot compile any KDE 2.1.1 applications. I get the \
following error: checking for kde headers installed... configure: error: your system \
is not able to compile a small KDE application! Check, if you installed the KDE \
header files correctly.

My system has:
kdelibs-2.1.1-5 and qt-devel-2.3.0-3
my $KDEDIR reads /usr and $QTDIR reads /usr/lib/qt-2.3.0 

Please keep in mind that I have a brand new RH 7.1 installation.
