KDE-2.0 runs under X, of course. Put '/opt/kde2/bin/startkde' in your
~/.xinitrc then do `startx`

Last time I was told about KDE release it was surely *not* to take
forever :-) You reporting bugs (perhaps some real ones in the future) will
surely help.

You're right, it's YHO :-) True, compared with KDE-2, KDE-1 is quite
archaic :-) Anyways, 55% of X users prefer KDE-1 to other GUIs :-)

BTW. you could have helped yourself. I'm almost sure that your question
should appear somewhere in an FAQ, on the kde web site.
