My understanding of this output: the server offered you both PAP and
CHAP but your pppd didn't accept these. Did you try PAP already (without
a script) ? Some providers allow both login methods.

You took the last two lines from the examples, right ? The terminal
output you provided didn't contain "granted" or the need to send "ppp"
so leave them away.

If nothing helps you might want to post the syslog messages to the
comp.protocols.ppp newsgroup.
