I think KPackage will remain part of KDE for a good time to come yet.
Also KPackage is for general package maintenance also, whereas
KInstaller is for the installation of a single package.

I will add you to the report maintainer list now.

No, I hadnt previously said anything about KPackage. I only started
playing around with it a day or so ago, and my immediate impression was
'here's a perfect candidate for a usability report' ;-)

Are there any plans for KInstaller to replace KPackage? Cause if
KPackage is going to remain part of KDE, then lets make it official and
put me down to do the KPackage maintaining as well.
