I think so.

For me the vertical layout is far more intuitive than the horizontal one. And 
it corresponds well with the scroll wheels of standard mice.

Abandoning KMix totally would clean up the code even more …


I found another usability problem in KMix. When not using the system tray 
icon, I would expect KMix to really quit, when closing the mixer window. But 
it doesn't. 

In that respect it behaves like some kind of malware. There's no window or 
icon anymore, but the program is still running.

Any comments on that?
