Honestly: How often do you adjust other values than the master volume?
Me, once I've found a good balance between system sounds, music and voice chat
applications, I rarely ever touch the configuration again.
I usually only change the master volume ad hoc if for example I was listening
to music and somebody starts talking to me (in real life). In these cases I
want to turn the volume down quickly.
If you adjust the other values more often, tell us in which situations and if
these situations look like many users may encounter them, you have convinced
me ;)
