"Impale" makes me think of Romania ;-).

Otherwise, along with "limit", in the category as "attach" and "fasten".

I think "stick", "pin" or "freeze" are best of the listed suggestion.
"Park" isn't too bad. Though...

...this is a valid point. So maybe not "freeze".

Personally I think "lock" is fine; we already use that, and it's used
elsewhere a.g. windoze.

On that note, what about "moor" ;-). (Or "anchor"?) Plus as Maciej
notes, it makes for a good icon.
IMO best suggestions so far are: 'pin', 'anchor', 'lock' (maybe 'stick'
but I don't know how you'd make an icon for that). Also 'lock' is nice
if it becomes non-configurable at the same time.
