I suggest that once the user overrides the current bightness settings,
his settings stay until either logoff, shutdown, or manual profile
selection. The [un]plugging of the cord should not override the user's
ad hoc brightness setting.

However, in the special case of the low battery profile _reducing_ the
brightness, I agree that the brightness should be lowered. If
anything, this could 1) save power, and 2) serve as a visual warning
to the user.
