The tooltip could include the shortcut as the menubar does, but I guess  that 
is up to  the app developers. IIRC, the shortcut  is embedded in a QAction 
class which won't be easily accessable to an external program. I do believe 
new users should be grounded in the metaphor first, unless they cannot use  
the interface for some compelling reason. The only shortcut I know to 
learning is a positive attitude and repetition;)
