But in this case... it is merely a  configuration proposal. So set up your 
Konqueror like you like it, then check the differences between the user 
konqueror.rc and and the system one, and submit the result as a "patch". 
Extra point for making the diff with diff -u. To locate the 2 files, 
try "locate konqueror.rc". 

That should get you something like

From here, it would be easy for other people to test your ideas out, and a 
real debate could begin. 

Personally, I don't like the superfluous search bar at all, and would like to 
eliminate it. But each to their own, I suppose :)
