Hi list,

There is a question about a new delete dialog in the digikam project based on
this blog:
http://amarok.kde.org/blog/archives/90-Concluding-the-Delete-Controversy.html

You can find the digikam discussion here:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126874

There is currently a patch by the digikam devs that introduces a combined
dialog for "delete" action and the "move to trash" action:
http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=17216&action=view

My question is, what is the kde standard for deleting single or multiple
selections? In Konqi delete is hidden and an "advanded user action". Move to
trash is the default behavior.

Is it wise to make deleting more prominent? In
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126874#c20
I also reported from my experience that unskilled users have problems with
warning dialogs thinking that they have made a mistage.

infos, comments, flames, candies? :-)

Bye

  Thorsten

P.S.
As digikam is no kde core project its of course possible that the devs go
their own way, but typically the take care on kde standards.
