I think that this is called NetworkManager and is developed by some of the
Fedora/Red Hat guys.

Coincidentally, if any Linspire guys are listening.. tell Sean I said hi and
that I'd really like to try out his network manager applet made of kparts
using python bindings. I think he was still working on it when I saw him
last.
