superceded perhaps only by http://wmi.modprobe.de or ion3. for a power
user happy to learn some arcane shortcuts, these 'tab-based window
managers' really are quite an innovation, especially in that they
prioritise exploiting all available real estate.
every window being a client that can be detached/attached to a 'frame' that
can itself be migrated to other 'workspaces' (desktops) makes for a very
flexible production focussed environment (albeit better suited to heavy
console users).
the wmii project is currently looking into the possibility of saving a
variety of framed clients in a given configuration as session information.
with a macro these stored configurations can be rolled out across
worksapces next login.
here's are examples of my toying with wmi-10 http://selectparks.net/julian/wmi
