Aspiration and Blue Oxen Associates will host a Software Usability Sprint in San Francisco,
California from February 18-20, 2005. The event will bring together a diverse group of
programmers, usability experts, project managers, and users to discuss methodologies for
improving the usability of Free/Libre/Open Source Software (FLOSS) and to apply those
processes towards specific software projects.

They invite developers working on a range of open source projects, usability experts from
both academia and industry, and users ofspecific nonprofit open source projects to join us
for this unique andvaluable gathering.

They encourage those who are unable to attend this first event to participate on their
mailing list , Wiki and IRC channel . The goals of the Usability Sprint are:

    - To build community between users, developers/programmers, and usability experts

    - To attract usability experts to actual non-profit-focused FLOSS projects

    - To survey and design usability methodologies

    - To apply the learnings on a real software project

All materials generated at the sprint will be published under Creative Commons license to
encourage the broadest use, adoption and ongoing enhancement of those resources.
