A good solution to this issue, I think, is having a context menu on entries
in the control panel which allows for opening them in separate windows. It
maintains that the application is single-window for those users who dislike
having many windows or are confused by the constant switching of windows,
yet still allows those who need separate windows to get them swiftly and
easily. Also, it allow separate windows without forcing the creation and
closing of many windows when looking for an option (however much I'd like
for option-digging to be resolved, I expect that it won't be).
