Replying off-list because this is not usability problem but very 
limiting real usage of krename.

I was trying to rename ca. 30 pictures from digital camera - all of them 
weighed 30M. Krename freezed system for 10minutes each times. Preview of 
files is necessary because names are cryptic p4563456354.jpg . Looks 
like creating thumbnails was causing freeze. Is Krename creating 
thumbnails of its own? Maybe should use ~/.thumbnails (this is afaik 
some sort of fd.o standard)
