Assuming people change their view often, why not use a dropdown? It'll 
take an additional click in some cases, but considering the many views 
and the probability that the amount and usefulness with be expanded in 
the near future, you're going to need something like this anyway.

Idea: How about an new toolbar located at the top of the right pane. 
This would contain 2 functions:

- Incremental Search / Filters
- View mode selection
