that sound very good (it remebers me tabs grouping in the tabbar
extension of firebird, a very handy thing that would be nice having this
in konqueror) but has a problem: if the similar tasks are
grouped in the taskbar(feature i like very much), and they belongs to
differents desktops, coloring taskbar entries is not applicable. Maybe
only the entries that belongs to the sae desktop should be grouped.

yea, it looks nice, and maybe that preview should appear also in the
alt+tab
menu.
About the taskbar improving, there is an idea for improving the similar
tasks grouping i was thinking about for a bit: i would be a taskbar made
of two rows: in the first row it should be the list of the groups, and
in the second row it should be the lisk of the applications belonging to
the current group, i made a little mockup explaining this.
I think with this method working with multiple istances of a sdi
program, like kwrite sould be more comfortable. I know it won't work
very well because it's so spacewasting and selecting an application
belongin to another group will require two clicks instead of 1, but it
was only a rough idea that i hope will e somewhat constructive.
