Fonts with hinting, in general. The Microsoft core fonts, in particular. There 
is also the Bitstream Vera fonts, but I find that even with hinting these 
fonts are not on the same level of quality. For more info, I find

geneal information on truetype fonts.

Speaking only for myself, I think that lack of icons (where it is appropriate) 
should be considered a usability bug.
