Yep: it makes it more difficult for some people to see the icon (blind, collor 
blind,...) See HIG's for more information about this.

I already thaught about this (I don't know that it's also in MS Win xp) but 
there's a problem with this: there will be people who don't make the link 
between the K icon and the menu. They will be confused the next time they 
start KDE that the menu isn't displayed anymore. IMO it's better if we points 
to the icon and let users click on it (so they know they have to do this 
alwys).

IMO it's better to point to the K icon in place of the menu self (see above).
