Grr. I don't have links, but I can give you a reasonable argument if you wish.

PS. To summarise it: It is pronounced "E mail", not "Em ail". Written email 
there is no option but to go with the latter which is patently ludicrous. It 
is "Electronic Mail" two completely seperate words!
