Hi all,
I wanted to get your opinion on a usability issue I'm having with Konqueror.
I often browse in the following way, 2 or more browsers open at a time and
drag and drop links etc between different windows. Now this all works very
well - I can pull a http link from one Konqueror window to another and the
page opens in the second window - useful I find for example if I want to keep
the usability mailing list page open in one window and read individual
threads in a second window. Quick and easy :-)
The problem I have though is with images. If I drag a link that points to an
image into a Konqueror window then I have to back that window out till it's
showing a html page before I can drag another image over.
I'll try to give a more concrete example of what I mean, just to clarify.
I'm browsing google's image database in Window 1. I see an image I'd like to
take a closer look at so I open in new window. I click the image in the new
window so it's full size (i.e. it's a Konqueror window just displaying an
image.) Now I can't drag another image from the google database over into the
second window without backing up.
I know it's a small thing to just hit that back button, but it's so bloody
annoying :-)
I'm guessing it's something to do with the embedded nature of Konqueror itself
- i.e Konqueror is no longer using the khtml part so dropping an html link is
disregarded. But every other browser I've used does this correctly. IE does
it, Mozilla does it... etc, etc...
I guess what I'm asking you guys is, how should Konqueror be expected to
behave in such a context?
Your thoughts?
