A somewhat less hacky solution would be using a SVG template, much like the 
HTML template we use for Konqi's intro page. It'd require allowing the SVG 
icon support to render arbitrary user-defined markup, and I'm not sure that 
svgicon supports the "text" element. It'd certainly be a powerful solution, 
however.
