I think that "Hardware" is a better name just because people have no idea what 
a "Peripheral" is (*ding* *ding* geek word). Mind you, the last time I 
suggested "Hardware" I got a big lecture about blah blah hardware config is 
for the distros blah blah do you know how hard it is to write hardware config 
utils blah blah...

We should be aiming for descriptive titles that normal people will understand. 
I don't think that shorter titles are in any way faster to scan. That 
argument doesn't make sense. People can (and will) just scan the first word 
in the label. Perhaps that is an argument for having the first word of a 
title unique, but thankfully we have that already.
