I actually prefer the previous one, but from a usability point of view, they 
both make it difficult to tweak the colour scheme by moving the customisation 
into a different dialogue. I suppose the preview would help with that 
though...

OK, here's what I would change: Type and combobox read better in horizontal 
line. AFAIK we don't have the option to display the year without the date or 
the date without the year. Both seem completely pointless, except perhaps the 
latter when used with an analogue clock. In which case you should have "Show 
date" and "Show year", the latter disabled until the first is set on.
