Really interesting to see these.

Can I make a plea for one feature from previous Microsoft file open dialogs? I
would really like to have cut, copy and paste available from the dialog. I
don't need to have buttons - RMB options would be fine.

I don't have a strong justification for this beyond "I would find it useful",
but there is one argument against it, that I think is mistaken. This is: "the
file open/save dialog is not meant for moving files, it is just meant for
opening or saving a file". The problem with this is that when you come to
open or save a file, you may realise the need to do some copying, pasting,
renaming etc. For example, you save a picture file and realise that you want
to reorganise some other files into two new folders, "text" and "pictures".
Or you spend ages looking for a file that is badly named, and once you find
it, you want to rename it.

I also think these are good reasons for having the "delete" and "new folder"
functionality available, as against what someone said in an earlier posting.

best wishes,
