Run drakemenu, and I think there is an option on a menu somewhere, where you 
can select what kind of menu system you want to use.

No, Mandrake are using the Debian Menu system. The idea behind Debian menu is 
to have a menu structure somewhere and then kind of 'compile' that into the 
config files needed by Gnome, KDE, <insert random desktop here> etc. So that 
changes to your menu magically appear in KDE and every other desktop 
environment... 

I find it kind of annoying myself... bad interface etc. Actually I wish 
Mandrake would just write some decent KDE admin tools instead of the half 
baked GTK ones they have now...
