I just looked at the api docs and yes, it does look nice.

And i think it will be quite easy to change this into what i envisioned,
without changing the api too. Well, not true, it would add more
constructors and maybe a few more methods, but the current ones
shouldnt change.

Extra things that should be added IMO is support for the read more link
or help icon or whatever it will be. As well as a close button if
people think that is a good idea, and pointing at the icon/widget that
opened it.

Im quite happy about this as it makes things a lot easier for me, or
whoever else, is going to work on it, compared to what i first thought.

And i think maybe i got another idea to its behaviour:

It would look something like #7 on
www.tolstrup.org/kde/baloon.html

To close it use the X button or wait n seconds, where a default could be
7.

To disable it right click and choose dont show this baloon* again. I
dont know how this should be implemented yet, possibly for the program
that created the baloon to provide a slot in order to disable it if
they will let it be disabled?

*) or whatever these things should be presented as to the user. I think
baloon sounds lame and people might think it is a tooltip. It could be
a dialog, but yet it isnt really a dialog. It could be a tooltip, but
it is different in concept to tooltips. Argh, what should the darn
things be called? =)

Show a help link at the bottom right. I think this should show a small
dialog with help about using the popups. (as in explaining how to close
and how to disable them as well as providing hints on how to enable it
again later)

Show a more info link at the bottom left. This would be optional way for
the program to supply a list of help documents that might be useful. I
think it should pop up a dialog as well. I envision it looking slightly
like the help dialog i already put up, except no disable checkbox and
possibly no popup help.

A different approach could be to not show a more info dialog, but
instead a popup menu with the items in it. Or even more alternative,
let the program itself create the dialog to be shown. Or possibly both
provide a standard dialog as well as let the program make its own.
