But that's exactly what the Create New->Link to Application does. It has all
the fields that the Menu Editor has in a nice tabbed format. It also has a
tab that the Menu Editor *doesn't* have: file types that the application can
handle (although the design of that tab could be improved).
And the user can edit an existing application by right-clicking its icon and
choosing Properties except that suffers from the "invisible context menu"
problem.
