the schedule for 3.1 hasn't been set yet, and that includes the message / 
documentatio freeze. as long as you are willing and able to write the 
documentation before that heretofor unknown date, that's perfect!

btw, could you contact Lauri Watts <lauri@kde.org> to let her know you plan on 
taking care of this? she coordinates all the documentation in kde and this 
will ensure that we don't end up with a couple of people working on it at the 
same time ... =)
