Hi Roland

I think the kwin developers are happy with the three placements as they are - 
but if you want it I wrote a patch to add a placement policy for placing 
windows centered in the screen; this could easily be modified to put them in 
the top left corner.  Let me know if you'd like a copy (I havent got round to 
putting it on the web yet).

The patch is against KDE3 - but could probably be backported to 2.1.1.  

(btw - this is a kwin issue rather kcontrol)
