Sorry about my previous inquiry about PackageKit. I realized that it is a \
Fedora-related problem. Nothing to do with kde-redhat.

I had to add an "--exclude PackageKit*" to resolve the issue.

Thanks for all this work Rex. We do appreciate it.

I have updated. Looks very nice! I have only just seen the desktop and am about to \
poke and prod.

I had to uninstall digikam, digikam-libs and kipi-plugins, otherwise all went \
smoothly. Will these be available in a 4.2-compatible form?

On the laptop, the akonadi migration failed. Can I rerun somehow?

I had to install MySQL and MySQL-server to clear the akonadi errors and it
seems to be running now, I think you can change what it uses in System
Settings but like you I am still digging around :)

Cheers

Odd. I already had them installed. I doubt that it is a big deal. I don't even know \
what akonadi is. There used to be somewhere where one could start it, but it never \
seemed to do anything. This is likely a clue.

It's looking better every minute :-) And I am thrilled that it just accepted my \
previous settings, so I haven't had to adjust anything so far.

I think it is partly working (its work in progress) and you can configure,
start and stop it in the system settings. The problem I had was when starting
Kmail it threw up the MySQL errors, clicking on the error in the d/box told me
what the problem was :-)

FYI:

It certainly is good and have only run into one small problem so far this
evening which is reported on kde.bugs #176349

I had to kill plasma and mv my plasma rc files out the way, but most likely
due to some custom packages I had, which are now not needed.

One thing I can't seem to find is to change Kmail's message window background
colour as it has now defaulted to white.

Cheers
