Subject: [kde-redhat-users] FC6/x86_64 - mulitlib broken.
Message: 1

Hello Rex,

I'm trying to upgrade a vanilla KDE 3.5.5 machine to KDE-RedHat/3.5.6
testing and I'm getting severe multi-lib breakage. (with
kde-redhat-testing enabled)
Step 1: I removed all the kde*.i386 packages, leaving only QT and arts.
(Required for QT/i386 applications such as skype).
Step 2: yum update failed on arts.i386's /usr/bin/arts conflicting with
a arts.x86_64 /usr/bin/arts. (Multi-lib is lovely - isn't it?)
Step 3: I tried to manually upgrade arts.i386 -and- arts.x86_64 in a
single rpm command - but failed due to missing dep-chain.
	libaudio.so.2 is needed by arts-1.5.6-3.fc6.i386
        libjack.so.0 is needed by arts-1.5.6-3.fc6.i386
        libaudio.so.2()(64bit) is needed by arts-1.5.6-2.fc6.x86_64
Step 4: I enabled both x86_64 repos (the usually suspects) and added the
i386 repos, but got the same errors as step 3.

Any idea how I can get -testing working on x86_64?

- Gilboa

I managed to get another machine running (by removing anything
kde/arts/qt*.i386 - but I'm still missing a couple of packages.

[root@gilboa-work-dev x86_64]# rpm -qa | grep kde | grep 3.5.5
kdebindings-3.5.5-1.fc6.x86_64
kdeartwork-extras-3.5.5-2.fc6.x86_64
kde-i18n-Hebrew-3.5.5-0.2.kde.noarch
kdeutils-3.5.5-1.fc6.x86_64
