I *think* I've come up with something that should work, at least for
current kde-redhat users.

I'll add to kde-config-kdm:
Requires: kdebase-kdm

Which should ensure kdebase-kdm stays put, and doesn't get silently lost.

Maybe someone on KDE general mailing list can help further. I am going
to post my question there and I will let you know about the result, in
case of success.
