Hi,
I am running Fedora Core 6 x86_64, a KDE install.
I have just added the kde.repo to my /et/yum.repos.d and I get many file
conflicts. Below is the output of yum install kdebase (as yum update is very
long...). Does anybody now how to solve such conflicts? I am new to
Fedora/Yum, coming from Debian. I can't find any force option for Yum.

Note that my list of repositories is:
kde

kde-all

updates
extras

Many thanks for any help.

Subject: [kde-redhat-users] ksysguard panel applet
Message: 2

People,

I have added the KSysGuard applet to one of my panels and it comes
pre-configured with two displays, for CPU and Memory. If I increment the
number of displays, space for them is reserved in the panel, but when I
right-click the empty space just created, I get the panel menu and not the
display menu. I can't configure the newly added display at all.
Also, if I remove one of the pre-configured displays, I can't get it back,
unless I remove ~/.kde/share/apps/ksysguard/KSysGuardApplet.xml to get the
defaults again.
How do I setup additional displays in KSysGuard applet?

Thanks,

Marcelo

Fire up ksysguard, the program, not the applet: F->System->KSysguard
Configure what you want to see in ksysguard.
Free some displays in the applet.
Drag the relevant displays in the applet.
Done.

I hope this helps.

Subject: [kde-redhat-users] Possible to build OpenSync rpms for Fedora Core 6?
Message: 6

Hi list.

I am trying to make opensync [1] work on my FC6 laptop, but have run
into some problems, and some of them are rpm related.

OpenSync is a synchronization framework that is platform and
distribution independent. It can be used to synchronize cell phones
with i.e. KDE-PIM (Kontact, Kaddessbook, KNotes, etc)

Currently, I have tried the FC5 yum repository from opensuse [2], but
not all components will install. For example Kitchensync-opensync will
fail, see the opensync ticket [3]. I believe this is because of a
buggy .spec file. Maybe also this is related to ticket 388 [4].

Next week one of the opensync developers will fix the irmc-plugin so
it will work with my SE T610 phone over bluetooth (OBEX), and I would
guess many of the people watching this list also would love to "get
synchronized". Although opensync is not yet a stable release, I think
that if at least the installation is smooth, more people will
contribute with testing, and the job for the developers will be
easier...

So, would it be possible to build good FC6 rpms for opensync (and the
opensync enabled KDE Kitchensync)? Rex?

all the best
MartinG
