Will be interesting to know what you find, I'll take another look @ bugs.kde
at the weekend also.

Hello,

When selecting 'Properties' from the context menu of a www link housed
on the desktop, kded crashes reproducible.
Control Center / KDE Components / Servcie Manager -> Error: Unable to
contact KDED

The link is created by drag&drop to the desktop from the location bar
of the konqueror. I'm using kde 3.5.5 (kdelibs-3.5.5-0.8.fc6).
Is somebody else seeing this?

regards
Olaf

Now it seems to me that this works on every www link, not give a damn
about housed on the desktop or elsewhere.
The error message from console output is: "Very strange! got a
DCOPReplyFailed opcode, but we were not waiting for a reply!"

Maybe here is something wrong with my installation?

More precisely: the url (and name?) of the link should contain special
characters (%).

Subject: [kde-redhat-users] Newbie question about compatibility of repositories
Message: 5

Hi, I'm running RHEL WS4, and have an active subscription to Red Hat. That said, I'm \
getting fed up of having to use such an old version of KDE (3.3.1). My question is \
will the kde-redhat repositories play nicely with the official ones? If I use them to \
upgrade my KDE, will I run into dependancy problems later on?

It's a work machine, so stability is fairly important! It's also an x86_64 machine.

Thanks for your help,
Brian

Of course. It would be kinda silly/stupid otherwise. (:

Hope not! Ditto on the "silly/stupid" comment above.

I couldn't connect to ICQ and AIM before, but can now so I'd say it's
working.

FYI, the patch included in 3.5.5-4 isn't 100% complete (the
complete/best fix is extensive and will be in 3.5.6), but as Frank
noted, should be good enough for most folks.

Sharon, did you have any concrete objections/problems with
rpmforge(dag), or did you just want to say you liked/preferred CentOS'
extras repo? (:

I've started building some pkgs, and unless I hear any vetos, will start
deploying these rhel4 pkgs to the testing repo(s) next week (Mon probably).

In the meantime, I'll work to come up with a proper kde-redhat-release pkg.
