Rex,

I'm using:

kdenetwork-3.5.5-1.fc5
libmeanwhile0-0.4.2-0.2.fc5.kde
meanwhile-1.0.2-2.fc5

What do I need to do to enable the Meanwhile plugin? Its not listed as an
option when I go through the 'add new account' wizard. The libmeanwhile0 rpm
was needed for Kopete/meanwhile support in kdnenetwork 3.5.4. Doesn't Kopete
0.12.3 support Meanwhile 1.0.2? Thanks!

Yup, missed that change in Build deps. I'll respin a fixed kdenetwork with
BuildRequires: meanwhile-devel >= 1.0
(no need for libmeanwhile0 anymore, yay)

Subject: [kde-redhat-users] kbuildsycoca crash after KDE 3.5.5 upgrade
Message: 3

After upgrading to KDE 3.5.5, kbuildsycoca crashes and seems to not build the
entire menu structure. I'm guessing its getting hung on the Crossover Office
applications menu, since that seems to be the only one missing. I can
reproduce if I do 'kbuildsycoca --noincremental', logout and login. The
crash actually occurs when I log back in. I've mv'd ~/.config and gone
through the same process, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Here is a backtrace:

Try moving /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/cxlegacy.menu to
cxlegacy.menu_orig

That should get ya going clean.

Yup, don't remember the details, but it's a buglet with Crossover's
.menu file(s).

Can anybody confirm that the patch works? Because I still have the connecting
problems. (kdenetwork-3.5.5-4.fc6)

I think freenode is having problems in general this morning, I can't
reliably connect via konversation today either.

You just had to go and ruin it.. didn't you.... :) hehehehehehe

I am going to be a few days before I can test your theory out .....

I tried the second half of below out on my FC4 machine with the latest
kde-redhat packages and I did not see any difference.....

Subject: [kde-redhat-users] make rpmforge required repo for rhel?
Message: 9

What do RHEL users think about the possibility of making rpmforge a
required repo for RHEL kde-redhat users (like how Fedora Extras + Livna
are required now for Fedora users)?

rpmforge is led by same major players, and do good work. I'd love to be
able to focus on making kde pkgs better, and not have to worry about
pulling in extra build/run-time pkg dependencies.

I'm asking this mostly because RHEL currently has no real analog to
Fedora Extras, and up to now, when I've needed extra pkgs, I usually
pulled from from FE and simply rebuilt them on rhel(4). Unfortunately,
this path has led to some repo conflicts with rpmforge (fftw, gnokii to
name two).

So, what do you all (RHEL) users think? Any objections?
