I will do more testing. So far, I have noticed that we are back to where we
started from:

With DPMS enabled, but all options set to disabled...

1. If you log in and do notihing until the screensaver time out time, then
the screen will blank and the screensaver will not start. However, if you
move the mouse after this, the screensavers seem to work on all subsequent
time outs.

2. If you log in and do something immediately, like open a program of wiggle
the mouse (instead of running of to boil some water for coffee), then the
screensaver seems to work right off the bat.

I will do more testing over the course of the weekend and report back.

This is true, I never noticed this.

Same here, Without this Patch though the Screensavers would NOT restart at all
on this Box.. So IMO this Patch has improved things no end (it took me long
enough to find it ;-) )

Cheers,

Colin

I tried this some more last night and changing the Browser ID seemed to help
(a little) why I am not sure.
However today I have just applied the latest updates and tested this again and
the site does not crash anymore here.. FC4

How about you Rainer?

Cheers

Colin

I use FC5.

I have confirmed that the problem still exists as I had described earlier,
but...

At least now it works. Before we had nothing except xscreensaver :-(

If you boot up and start working right away, you would never notice the
problem. Only me, I usually turn on the computer and get my coffee while
it's booting, and when I come back a couple of minutes later, the screen has
blanked. But now it works after that. It didn't before.

Yes, works again with latest kdelibs 3.5.3-8.0.

Looking at the changelog:
* Mi Jul 12 2006 Than Ngo <than@redhat.com> 6:3.5.3-8
- upstream patches,
     kde#130605 - konqueror crash
kde#129187 - konqueror crash when modifying address bar addres

Seems one of those was the problem.

THx
Rainer
