Got a bit further that time, still fell over on kernel-utils.
I assume I'll have to install kdegraphics again after the update ?

So I installed the FC4 kernel, rpm -e --nodep'ed the FC3 kernel, and...

Has anyone else noticed a lag that happens sometimes, not all the time,
where when you click on task menu windows or virtual windows, takes a
few seconds before they finally go over. Its taking almost 7 seconds on
my machine sometimes to go to the items I've selected.

Thanks,

JB

Isn't syslogd the system log daemon? Is that a good thing to disable?

I dont use the logs. If you use them, keep it on. I find it was indexing
what was installed constantly and was bogging down my system. All is good
now.

IMO, no, syslogd should *never* be turned off. If it's logging is
slowing your system down, find the *source* of that logging, not turn
off logging altogether.
