Same here:
[cjb@semaphore ~]$ rpm -q kaffeine
kaffeine-0.6-1.0.3.kde

I even did a "yum erase kaffeine", then a "yum install kaffeine-mozilla".
Still no joy. Arg, is some config file somewhere, I know it.
Blasting .kde is such a hassle though...=/

Kevin: Thanks for that lead. I've installed 2.6.11-1.20_FC3 and the ATI rpms.
For now, all is well - I don't want to get overconfident yet - this box ran
all day just fine, and then starting going crazy this evening. But these
files seem to be addressed to this very issue.

Can you force an uninstall of it with rpm, and then install pspell-devel with
yum ?

Actually, it's pspell-devel that's causing the problem, since pspell012
Obsoletes: pspell. Nobody Obsoletes: pspell-devel.

rpm -e pspell-devel

ought to do the trick.

"What we have here is a failure to communicate."

Start with -- "Can we download the spec file?"

Try to get a clear cut yes or no answer out of them before delving into
the GPL. If they say no, start with asking why.

Then if they are belligerent about it, point out that scripts dealing
with installation of the executable also need to be open sourced and
that Spec files are the master script. If they don't agree, go ask the
FSF for their opinion. Don't let anyone else interpret what VNC
should or should not do. Especially when their email originates out of
Sun.

take care,

Claude, something else you may want to check, it may not apply to you since
this is mainly a tip for laptop users. But I had BIOS screen blanking enabled
on a laptop once and when the BIOS blanked the screen I would have to reboot
to get the machine back. Disabling BIOS screen blanking solved that problem.

IMO, Rex should ask specific assistance for the issue he's having
compiling the software from the .spec file he's currently using. Provide
the RealVNC folks with the details of the .spec file used to compile it,
and the specific problems. Address the problem and stop arguing about
whether the .spec file,or the src.rpm should've been released by RealVNC
or not.

According to the message referenced above, the issues are:
(1) When built against XFree86-4.3, it fails to build the vnc.so X
loadable module. When built against xorg-x11-6.8.1, the vnc.so loadable
module builds, but crashes X when logging in as non-root.

(2) Unfortunately, RealVNC's binary rpm cannot be installed on my
xorg-x11-6.8.1 system due to it's linkage against a very old libstdc++.so

Address those issues as a technical question on a new thread and lay off
the spec file/no spec file GPL argument.

Again, just my opinion...

Regards,
Tim

Thanks, that's exactly what I ended up
doing, "yum remove pspell-devel" and
then did a yum install ....

After a long list of deps and
installs all is working.

Thanks for the great work
on this project.

I'm a big PyQt fan and that's
what attracked me here in the
first place, but now I have more
then I even wanted, very complete
and very cool!
