Haha, yes I'm too young to remember the original Doom. I've heard a lot
about it
from those who did play it back in its heyday. Didn't you play multiplayer
through
a wired connection via LPT or something connected directly to two
computers? =P

I did sign up for this list, but to be honest this is one of the first
mailing lists I've used.
If I'm doing something wrong with my formatting please let me know. I don't
want
to mess things up. I'm am a writer and have experience writing articles and
some
fiction, so I would gladly write articles for the Dot. I'll be looking into
past articles
and look for ideas.

I'll be contacting them with questions to get started!

I live in the deep South in the US. Louisiana specifically. And for some
reason
the open-source software community basically has no life down here. I have
no
idea why. The LUG that once existed in Baton Rouge seems to be dead as far
as I can tell, and I'm hoping to help revive it somehow. We have a lot of
Windows
and .NET people, so I need to start converting a few. ;P

I will be doing that! There's no better feeling than helping and
contributing
both in writing and in code.

Remember, if I'm not using the mailing list correctly or you have
suggestions
in how I should be using it please feel free to shoot me an email. ;)
