The fact that you'll lower your contributions is totally irrelevant 
IMHO, you did a great job and you deserve some gratification (even in 
the form of an interview).
Regarding the interview itself it can be published separately: the 4.5.4 
release is a big and relevant news by itself, the interview can be a 
separate article in the dot when it's ready.

packages for the KDE Software Compilation 4.5.4. This release is doubly important \
because it marks the return to the headlines of the KDE Windows Initiative after a \
lot of hard background work and because it brings the KDE SC 4.5 series to the \
