I completly agrea, makes perfect sence to me, we try to define a brand in kde, 
but then the brand gets washed by a distro, (wich makes sence since distros 
want to brand themselfs aswel), but makes our joob as promoters of kde much 
harder as you said...
This should be the defoult for kde promoters so we would all be promoting the 
same thing visualy...

The other day a friend of mine comed to me and said he did not like the look 
of kde4 he had saw in a screnshoot, turns out it was a screnshot from a 
distro's altered defoult, but he did not knew that.
