why affinity is better than patternist:

- it's a real word
- it fits the "science-ish names for infrastructure projects" (informal) theme 
we have going on (makes kde4 promo easier if everything seems to fit together 
like that)
- it sounds a lot nicer when spoken than patternist (or gluon or transformer 
for that matter)
