From the user point of view the DBUS/HAL-media-kioslave combo enables
the user to insert external pluggable storage media(CDROM / USB-memory
stick / digital cameras ) to be mounted and displayed on the desktop
instanly and unmounted/removed from the desktop as soon as the media are
removed.
Although similar functionality was provided by SUSE and Mandrake before
the DBUS/HAL-media-kioslave combination is more reliable, uses less
resources and reacts way faster.
