A word about printing in large format: avoid JPG's at all times. The
artifacts may not be noticable on screen or on small prints, but they
become HUGE and UGLY on large paper (A2+). If at all possible, go for a
vector format such as SVG or PS. And with PS, check if you really have a
vector image. PS can store bitmapped information too. If you do need to
go with a bitmapped format, take PNG and lossless compression.
Oh, and bzip2 compresses PS really really well, in case you're
space-constrained. I have the german KDE brochure on my server in PS
format (59MB) which turns into 3,5MB when it's bzipped.
